Thanksgiving is a time to talk, to remember, to laugh, and give thanks. The only gift exchanged is the time we give to our friends and family. Many of us will be sitting around a dinner table today with loved ones and some of us will be sitting next to a chair empty of loved ones gone on. Or perhaps you’re like me and my mother, we take the time to meditate on things of the past, where the Lord has brought us from, what He’s brought us through and then give thanks for where He’s brought us to.
We all have something to be thankful for. Call someone that you haven’t spoken to in awhile, check on that elderly neighbor, alone and friendless, give the dog an extra belly rub and treat. This is where our blessings come from.
